Bob picked the wrong girl! (On the Bachelor, for those of you who have no idea what I'm talking about). I liked Kelly Jo better than Estella. Oh well, hopefully Bob knows what he's doing.

Back to the real world - this semester's almost over! Wow, it seems like it went by so fast, but yet the homework went by so slowly. Next semester will be different - I will have a job! I got a job working as a veterinarian's assistant and receptionist at Clayton Animal Hospital. Right now I'm signed up for 20 hours also, but I'm really just holding out to see which class I want to drop because I know that's too much when I'll be working three days a week too. As far as this semester goes, I have a ton - and I do mean a ton - of work to do between now and the week after Thanksgiving, but I'm trying not to think about it. I've decided that there will be no more letting myself get stressed out. I do not like to be stressed out, and stress is not good for you physiologically or emotionally. School will not get to me anymore, nor will it control my free time!

Random thoughts:
I kicked butt on Jeopardy tonight! They had a biology category and I knew all that, plus lots of random history and music trivia! Shock! I know, I am a nerd, but I embrace it.

I eat too much, and though a big butt may be desirable, having to buy new and bigger jeans is not.

Sometimes roomates work out and sometimes they don't. Poor Ginger. I'd look into the Mafia if I were you.

If you want to splurge on something comfortable, buy one of those cool squishy foam pillows from Linens N Things or Belks. It is WELL worth the money!

If it rains, run through the mud puddles and don't care whether your clothes get wet or not. However, if it is freezing cold outside try to avoid getting wet. Thomas and I got soaked at the bus stop this morning, and it was the first time that I was happy that this November has been unseasonably warm.

That's it for now - time to go visit that wonderful pillow I was telling you about.

Which Pirates of the Caribbean character are you?

Thanks Katie . For those of you who love Pirates of the Carribean, check out this quiz (something to humor you while you procrastinate ).

Okay back to memorizing four chapters of biochemistry. Three cheers for Dr. Sylvia and for now knowing each and every little tiny reaction that happens when you eat a bite of bread and digest it!

Okay I am getting slack again - over a week without an entry. I've been procrastinating all day, so why do homework now? I'm about sick of doing homework. Sadly, I have about 6 years of school left. On the flip side, I will actually enjoy my work in vet school. Something to look forward to.
I contemplated a lot of stuff this weekend, too much to type right now, but the basic theme was wondering why I was born in such a free, supportive, rich country - with no ethnic wars - while the majority of the world's population is living in fear because of war, is starving, is in poverty, is being oppressed by their governments, or even having to deal with all of these. Any thoughts?
More interesting topics - globalization, cultural exceptionalism and cultural relativism, and how truly great it is to live in the United States (Britain, Australia, or New Zealand wouldn't be bad either). Look for more on these topics when I don't have so much reading to do.
How was your weekend everyone?
Post a comment and tell me something cool.
Peace

I have no homework tonight! That makes me very happy. Tomorrow is Halloween guys! Halloween is great for several reasons - 1) It was always tons of fun to dress up, get candy, eat candy, get a tummyache from candy , carve pumpkins, etc. In fact, I wish I could still go trick-or-treating! I need to find some little kids to trick-or-treat with next year. 2) Thomas and I started dating on Halloween two years ago tomorrow! I know, awwwwwwwwww. But seriously, it's been a fabulous two years and I love him!

What are your Halloween memories/traditions? Personally, my house was always decorated for Halloween. My dad especially loves Halloween, and we'd always put up that fake spiderweb stuff and stick little plastic spider rings in it. We have a ghost that you can hang on doorknobs and when it moves it makes scary sounds. We always dressed up, and always carved pumpkins at home and at the church carnival, and we always went trick-or-treating around Bynum. Let's see - I've been Minnie Mouse, Snow White, a witch, a werewolf, a cheerleader, a jester, a genie (harem girl really ), and I'm sure lots of other fun stuff. Oh, I was a zombie one year. I can remember Dad and Chad being vampires and werewolves several times, and I remember Mom's scary witch costume. What is your favorite costume that you've ever worn?

I have a confession to make. I grew up 15, maybe 20 minutes tops from Franklin St. (Chapel Hill), and lived there all my life, but I've never been to Franklin St. on Halloween. I know, what a loser. Erin's from Virginia and she's even been (granted it was after I told her about it freshman year). Oh well, some people would say I need to go and others say I'm not missing out on anything. I don't think I'm missing out on anything except a LOT of humorous costumes and people.

That's all for now. Post a comment if you feel like it. Come see Thomas play at the Brewery tonight! Peace out.
